Sandpoint Lakeside Lodge #42
Greetings, Brethren:
May Stated Communication will be Past Masters and 50-Year Members Night. All are invited. If you need a ride, contact Paul Ousley, Jim Kemp or me for arrangements. Brother Ousley will be receiving his 50-year pin on that night.
Our next major event is the "Lost in the 50's" Breakfast and Lunch. This is our only fund raiser, so spread the word. The committee is Chairman, Bruce Peterson, Ralph Cornett and Jon Rich. Please contact one of them if you can help.
The District 13 Spring Communication and International Night were both well attended. These are always enjoyable events.
There will be a Called Communication on Monday, May 19th for Conferral of the First Degree. Let's have a good turnout to welcome our new member.
Monday, May 5th - Stated Communication - Dinner 6:30 PM, Lodge 7 PM.
Saturday, May 17th - Lost In the 50's - Breakfast 7:30 AM, Lunch 11.00 AM.
Monday, May 19th - Called Communication, First Degree 7:00 PM.
Friendship Night is scheduled for Monday, June 16. This date was selected to accommodate any potential candidates that might develop from the Panhandle Shrine Club Golf Tournament. The event consists of a Lodge hosted dinner followed by a short program on Masonry. Feel free to invite anyone you think would be a good Mason. Wives and any other interested parties are also welcome.
Fraternally, Ron McCormick, WM
Why is Masonic Ritual regarded as so important?
Truth may be taught without ritual, but truth taught by ritual is always taught as the original teachers desired and makes a lasting impression upon the mind of the learner. Many a man has thought he could "improve" the ritual of Freemasonry. None has succeeded in making better that which was already "best". - Masonic Service Center.
